Afghan Helmets:

M18 Afghan Steel Helmet

Afghanistan used German surplus helmets following the First World War. These helmets were typically repainted and featured a new liner system, as well as a badge with the Afghan Coat of Arms on the right side.

This helmet was brought back by an American GI from Afghanistan in 2004. It was found with a cache of other German surplus helmets.
